AFTCO's Taper-Tip Aluminum Gaffs are slim, with a tapered shape makes them bolt fast when slashing through the water and easier to maneuver, making these gaffs sorely accurate. Bring the fish to the boat with less flailing and confusion. Shafts are made from corrosion-resistant marine aluminum and are swaged for uniform strength from top to bottom. Available in our traditional rich gold and popular lustrous black finishes—that are anodized for lasting beauty and resistance to saltwater corrosion. All models are fitted with soft but rugged black grips molded from the same non-slip material found on the finest fishing rods. Vinyl butt caps seal out corrosive moisture and prevent deck scarring.

AFTCO Tapered Fiberglass Gaffs feature special thick-walled, super strong yet lightweight E-glass handle construction custom designed for extreme strength and rigidity. All our fiberglass handles are rolled on proprietary mandrels using specific tapers developed by AFTCO and are fitted in our factory with the same stainless steel hooks used on our aluminum gaffs. Featuring a rich dark brown epoxy finish with hand wrapped black and metallic gold trim, each gaff has a functional black nylon seine cord handle and Turk’s head. The 6 and 8 foot models float if dropped overboard.

Aftco Arena Fighting Belt

The new AFTCO Arena fighting rod belt is perfect for 12-lb to 30-lb tackle use while fighting smaller fish, including smaller billfish, tuna, king mackerel and other sub-100lb gamefish on relatively light tackle.  The high-grade, thick aluminum plate is richly anodized in gold.  The black-anodized, CNC-machined aluminum gimbal cup that can hold a light rod, comes with a stainless cross-pin that swivels up and down to securely hold gimbaled rod butts and eliminate rod torque.  Bonded, closed-cell polyurethane foam back pad is durable, comfortable and very light weight.  The nylon belt easily adjusts to fit waist sizes from 28” – 50” with hook-and-loop fasteners.  The AFTCO Arena fighting rod belt works perfectly with the AFTCO Maxforce II Shoulder Harness.
